THE 08 ELECTION AS OF MARCH 28. 2008 by JMRII
I support the progressive agenda represented by people like Steve Cohen and most of the blue state Democrats. JOHN MCCAIN has taken a photo opt trip to the Middle East and has said incorrectly that Iran was training Al Queda when the fact is that Iran is Shiite while Al Queda is Sunni. Sen. Joe Lieberman finally corrected him on this. Some weeks earlier McCain stated that Putin was the president of Germany when in fact he is the President of Russia. It appears that John McCain has seen his best days and is showing signs of old age. HILLARY CLINTON went to Bosnia in the 1990?s which at that time was a dangerous area. While in fact snipers did not actually fire on her and Chelsea at that particular time there was danger that this might happen and no doubt she was briefed on this fact. Although there was talk by some people at that time that this action was unnecessary the fact is that Bosnia, a Muslim majority section of the former Yugoslavia had been invaded by Serbian extremists who practiced systematic rape against Bosnian women. The Clinton policy stopped this activity and also prevented genocide by Serbian extremists against the Muslim majority in Kosovo. In at least one of these situations no American lives were lost. Unfortunately, the media today does not give the whole story about the 1990s in the Balkans,. BARACK OBAMA has faced the revelations of the extremist views of his former Pastor Jeremiah Wright. He has repudiated the statements by this man. The big problem with Barack is that he has not agreed to count the Florida and Michigan votes that were forced by Republican Gov. Charlie Crisp in Florida and then forced upon Michigan by a Republican legislature. Either Barack can get nominated with the votes and delegates of these two very important states or he cannot. If he cannot then to win the nomination by not counting the votes will give him a big problem in November. If he would agree with Hillary to count and seat them as is and then in the next 10 primaries come out with the lead he would then have a case to argue for getting the nomination. At that time it would be proper to have a discussion about this. If he does not agree then the fault for the continued division in the party will be his. The Rev. Wright controversy is serious. Many people in Bubba country will simply not accept this even with his explanations. Hillary correctly stated her position because to fail to do this would have caused bubba to assume that she was somewhat in agreement with Wright. Wright stated that Hillary had never been called a n----. Many black women have stated that being a woman was a worse handicap than being a black. Wright has never been called some of the things that women have been called which I will not repeat but these things are called sexual harassment. Wright has expressed a one sided support of the Palestinian cause when in fact there have been Jews in Palestine since at least 1870. Some Jews migrated to Palestine after the two World Wars just as others migrated to the U.S. and other countries. These people are now either very old or deceased and most of the present population of Israel is native born. These people want simply to be left alone and not face suicide bombers and nations that say that they should be pushed into the sea. The logic expressed by the extremists would mean that most of the people in the western hemisphere would have to leave to go back to the eastern hemisphere. If such were possible then to where would people go since most people in the western hemisphere are a mixture of two or more different groups. Where would the person who is part English and part French go? The extremism expressed by Wright is very offensive and very stupid as well. Barack to his credit has repudiated these statements but he needs to support counting and seating Florida and Michigan. Then he needs to wait until the end of the final ten primaries before claiming victory. The real issue is not Hillary and Barack. It is climate change, inclusion, Social Security, Medicare, stem cell research, product safety, education and many other real issues. It is not the fake conspiracies of the far right. It is not important who brings the desired results but that the desired results take place. Race, gender, religion and national origin mean nothing to me. Getting progressive results are the necessary thing. If McCain or another Republican is elected we do not get the desired results. |
